I have this friend who lives six plus hours away. We've never met, but we had "a thing" a while ago. My girlfriend hates her. She thinks this girl isn't good for me and she hates that we're as close as we are. I don't do anything with my friend that would upset my girlfriend besides simply talking to her and we tell each other we love each other. I'm not willing to drop my friend, and my girlfriend doesn't think that she can continue to feel hurt because of it forever. What do I do?

AnonymousIf you’re just friends you need to explain this to your girlfriend and reassure her that nothing is going on between the two of you. Explain to your girlfriend you want to be with her but that you’ve been friends with this girl for a while and you don’t want to be forced into not talking. A good relationship needs trusts to work and if your girlfriend can’t trust you then it’s not going to work out. I can understand why your girlfriend feels jealous because she doesn’t want to lose you but at the end of the day it’s up to you who you talk to
